Frederick Goff was born on December 15, 1858, in Illinois and died on March 14, 1923, in Cleveland.
The first community foundation was established in Cleveland (USA) in 1914. The banker Frederick Goff noticed that there were many small funds in local banks that were dedicated to charity, but that many of them lay idle because their purpose was no longer current. He came up with the idea of merging small funds into one multipurpose fund for Cleveland and the first community foundation in the world was born.
Even more than 100 years later our Foundation works on the same principle, on the principle of fund management. We manage over 20 and their number grows every year.
If you would like to start-up your own foundation, we recommend that you do it as a fund in our Foundation. For more info please contact our CEO at email katka@komunitninadace.cz.
